Tristan and Machinima 101

CraftingWorlds.com has released a new section on the page: "Machinima 101". The page will focus on helping authors with fundamentals like Acting/Directing, How-To's for editing styles and programs and, this will be a place where Machinimators in our community can meet and share experience.

Tristan, who is the creator of CraftingWorlds.com, and fom his exeriences as a machinima artist, an actor, an off broadway director, and just a person who likes to diversify in many aspects of life will come in handy if you have
any questions regaring Machinima and he hopes those who join in can help as well:

"What really gets me going now is, and without sounding pompus, I have the ability to step back from the community and lend a helping hand(as an independent of course). The new Crafting Worlds page has been created for just that reason! I want to get back to the grass-roots of the Machinima community and help those who like me may be looking for a little assistance here and there, both through interaction and my own experience…"

elm way 2 - nmot really in machinima, but for a reason.

I know that I didn't do episode II in TM, and it's just a placeholderusing stop motion, but episode I is, if you want to take a look. Idon't go into a "spiel" as to why I no longer used TM for episode 2(that's apparent to anyone who has been following my rants on TMOA), Ijust needed placeholders between episodes 1 and 4 which are done in TM.

On the off chance that people still check this place...
I'm looking for modellers and animators for a UT2004 machinima project. If anyone is interested, that'd be great. I'd also really appreciate if someone could point me in the direction of other places where I could look for help (already made a post on machinima.com).

Elm Way episode 1
I premeired my new machinima tonight, Elm Way, and was looking for advice/comments from the other machinima crowd.

Elm Way, episode 1: "First Lane Drive"
Deep within the Hollywood Hills, the sleepy town of Elm Way resides.
Susan McCarthy introduces Charlie Paxim to her household of seven
equally neurotic characters- and starts a chain of events which will
change the town and its inhabitants forever.

What program(s) would you guys recommend to use for making movies from video game clips? My boyfriend has a program now (not sure what it's called at the moment), but was wondering what other people are using. He's especially interested in slow motion. The program he uses now doesn't have that great of detail for slow motion.

Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!!

Wild Pitch/IFC
Anyone with the Independent Film Channel seen the shorts that Rooster Teeth Productions created for their summer programming yet? I've heard they've started airing.

at least a company is saying something
I'd suggest you forget about selling your movies, because this is a
very big and complicated legal process and in the end; you're using
Lionhead's content! We talked about this before (maybe not with the
people in this thread) and came to the conclusion to forget about
selling movies made with The Movies...

Wow. Big turning point for Elm Way, my show; part of me still wants to do it, part of me doesn't.

FireWire/S-Video Transfer Help
Hi. I know nothing about S-Video or Firewire Computer-to-Camcorder Transfer.
I'm trying to capture gameplay from my computer to my camcorder for an animation convention next weekend. Anyone mind giving me some pointers of how to do this with Firewire?

I have Windows XP, my camera is a Sony DCR-TRV8.
My capture card is a 9600xt, and my FireWire is IEE1394.
